Part 13 - Gift Aid

Lief World supports the Gift Aid scheme, enabling UK taxpayers to increase the value of their donations to registered charities. Here's how we handle data in relation to Gift Aid:

  1. Gift Aid Declarations: When you choose to add Gift Aid to your donation, we collect necessary information as part of the Gift Aid declaration. This typically includes your name, address, and the fact that you are a UK taxpayer. We process this data into Gift Aid declarations and send this to the charity.

  2. Data Use for Gift Aid: The information collected for Gift Aid is used exclusively for processing Gift Aid with HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). This allows the charity to claim 25p of tax on every £1 donated, at no extra cost to you.

  3. Revoking Gift Aid: If you stop paying enough tax on your income or capital gains, it is your responsibility to inform us. You can cancel your Gift Aid declaration at any time by notifying the charity.

  4. Confidentiality and Security: As with all personal data, we maintain the confidentiality and security of Gift Aid data and ensure it is used only for its intended purpose.
